P.S.H.E.

Positive relationships are the underpinning of our school vision and culture. We prioritise positive and safe relationships and friendships because they are the foundation of success in so many aspects of life, both in primary school and beyond.

We teach PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) and RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) because they provide children with the opportunity to develop an understanding of the following key areas:

  • Being in My World: understanding my own identity and how I fit well in the class, school and global community
  • Celebrating Difference: including anti-bullying and understanding diversity
  • Dreams and goals: includes goal setting and aspirations
  • Healthy me: including drugs and alcohol education, self-esteem and confidence as well as healthy lifestyle choices including sleep and nutrition.
  • Relationships: including understanding friendship, family and other relationships, conflict resolution and communication skills.
  • Changing me: including Relationships and Sex Education in the context of looking at change.

At Staplegrove, we follow the Jigsaw PSHE curriculum. Through this curriculum, our children will develop knowledge and skills which will be empower them to make the right decisions both now and in the future.
