 Lunches at Staplegrove Church School

At our school children have the choice of bringing their own packed lunch or to have a cooked meal provided. The children eat in three sittings in the main hall; it is regarded as a social time and the children sit with their friends regardless of what they are eating.

Hot lunches

Children having cooked meals are encouraged to use cutlery independently and we provide support to those children needing it.

School meals are available to order and pay on our cashless system Arbor. Menus run on a 3 week rotation and a new menu is issued termly.

The menu typically consists of two main options and three dessert options to choose from. If your child has dietary requirements, please inform the office and this will be passed to the kitchen with your choices.

Meals must be ordered in advance by noon on Wednesday for the following week.

We are not able to offer refunds for missed school meals due to sickness or absence. If you wish to cancel your child's meal, you can do this via Arbor or by calling the school office provided there is sufficient time to cancel it with the kitchen.

This term's menu can be found below.

Payment for lunches

When do I start to pay for School Meals?

Universal Free School Meals (UFSM) - All children starting in Reception through to Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal.

KS2 Paid Meals - For children in Year 3 through to Year 6 meals will need to be paid by the parent/carer, unless the child is entitled to Free School Meals (FSM).

You will be asked to complete the FSM form when your child starts with us and the Local Authority will tell us if your child is entitled. If you circumstances have changed or you think you may be entitled to claim FSM, please contact the school office.

Packed lunches

Children will be encouraged to eat all of their lunch and so we politely ask that you do not over-pack your child's lunchbox. We encourage you to pack a healthy packed lunch for your child.

Sweets and fizzy drinks are not permitted to be eaten and we encourage your child to drink water rather than squash or juice. Please see the NHS website for more guidance about healthy packed lunches.
