Applying for a school place in September 2027

We are thrilled that you are considering Staplegrove Church School for your child's start to primary school in September 2027. Please find below the details of our open events, how to apply for a place and our transition process for children who have a place confirmed with us.

Open evening

We are delighted to offer an open evening on Wednesday 7th October 2026 at 6pm.

School tours

We offer individual tours during the school day to prospective parents with our Headteacher. These tours provide you with the opportunity to see the school in action and ask any questions that you may have about our school.

Applying for a place

Applications for a school place should be made with Somerset County Council. More information can be found by following this link: Apply to start school for the first time

The deadline to apply for primary school is 15th January 2027.

Our transition programme

School places are typically confirmed by Somerset County Council in April 2027.

We will contact parents of children who are joining us in September 2027 to share details of our transition programme. This typically includes: a further open evening for parents; 2 stay and play sessions for children in school; a visit by school staff to your child's current nursery or childminder; a home visit to give your child the chance to meet school staff in a setting familiar to them.
