Our Trust: Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust (BWMAT)
Our school is proud to be part of the Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust (BWMAT, a family of schools working together to provide high‑quality education and opportunities for all children and young people.
BWMAT is a Church of England multi‑academy trust rooted in the Diocese of Bath and Wells. The Trust brings together schools from across Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset, Bristol and surrounding areas, serving diverse communities while sharing a common purpose.
What is BWMAT?
BWMAT exists to support schools to flourish and succeed together. The Trust provides strategic leadership, shared expertise and practical support, while valuing the unique identity, context and community of each school.
The Trust’s work is guided by a clear Education Strategy and Strategic Plan, which set out how BWMAT:
- Raises educational standards and outcomes for all learners
- Supports inclusion, wellbeing and safeguarding
- Develops staff and leadership capacity across schools
- Ensures strong governance and sustainable use of resources
These documents help ensure a consistent, ambitious and thoughtful approach to improvement across the Trust, while allowing schools to respond to the needs of their own communities.
Our shared vision, strategy and values
BWMAT’s Education Strategy and Strategic Plan are underpinned by a strong Christian vision that places people, relationships and learning at the heart of everything the Trust does.
Across BWMAT schools, there is a shared commitment to:
- Enabling every child to achieve their full potential
- Promoting high‑quality teaching and learning
- Nurturing wellbeing, resilience and confidence
- Building inclusive, compassionate and respectful communities
- Supporting professional growth and collaboration for staff
The Trust believes that education is about more than academic success - it is about developing the whole child and supporting adults to thrive in their roles.
How the Trust supports our school
As part of BWMAT, our school retains its own identity and local governance arrangements, while benefiting from being part of a wider Trust.
Support includes:
- Strategic leadership and school improvement guidance aligned with the Trust’s Education Strategy
- Access to specialist expertise in areas such as safeguarding, inclusion and curriculum
- High‑quality professional development for staff and leaders
- Opportunities to collaborate with other schools across the Trust
This collective approach helps schools learn from one another and respond positively to new challenges and opportunities.
Working with families and communities
BWMAT schools value strong partnerships with families, parishes and local communities. Each school plays a vital role in its local area, and the Trust supports schools to maintain these connections while benefiting from a shared strategic direction.
